Here is the sketch –
And here is my card-
This was such a fun card to make! I pulled out some hardly used supplies to make the squares look like sand! They got this look from layering inks and a few different sprays to give a little texture and sparkle.
I used the smallest dies in the Pierced die set for the squares.
The adorable little crabs are from the My Favorite Things set Just Beclaws and are colored using copic markers
Thanks for checking out my blog! Be sure to let me know what you think of this little card! I would love to hear!
Finally, I have a card finished before the MFT Sketch Challenge!
Here is the sketch –
…and here is my card –
I used the Stitched Blossoms dies and the Rounded Rectangle Dies from MFT. To keep it as easy as possible, I left these dies connected and ran them through my Gemini. I used white cardstock and then added color with Altenew inks.
I added a few flicks of Copic Marker to add more grass in the bottom window. I also used the Cloud Stencil from MFT to add a little more of a scene behind the flowers.
I love coloring but sometimes it’s fun to take a bit of a break and just ink!
I have a new love for hippos. These little guys…well, actually it’s just one little guy which I turned into a bunch of little guys, fit the bill perfectly! This set from Avery Elle is just so beyond words cute!
This week I got the Gina K Weather Builders stamp set and stencils. It works beautifully with the included stamps but I wanted to turn it up a knotch and try the stencil with other stamps. This hippo was first in line!
I think it turned out tots adorbs! What do you think?
I had to add some greenery to make it look like they are climbing out of the brush in Africa….I am not sure that is really what hippos do. I gave my self a little creative licence! Lol! The circle for the card bases was cut from. The largest circle I the Infinity Circle set from Hero Arts. I am so used these dies to make the circle shacker.
The green scalloped circle and the ferns are both from My Favorite Things and the beautiful sequence is from Pretty Pink Posh.
All for day 7 for Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
Thanks for checking out my blog! More to come soon!
Ok, is it obvious I love to color green things? Check out my Instagram account and you will see at leadt one entire row of cards which all have this lovely color in common! Maybe it’s because it’s spring. Maybe it’s because I love the Spectrum Noir DGs….I’m not sure. Tomorrow, I will be breaking this trend and coloring anything NOT green! Lol.
This little ‘toadally’ adorable guy is from MFT as is the greenery around him. The water and the sun rays are made using a stencil from MFT.
I die cut the ferns from MFT Olive cardstock but wanted to add a little depth, so I colored just the tips of each fern with copic markers. It really gives more depth to what really is just a flat die cut.
For the water I used a stencil and distress ink. That too seemed a little flat to me, so I added a few strokes of B00 to add a little more interest. I also covered the ‘water’ with Spectrum Noir clear Sparkle pen.
The banner he is holding is from a MFT tag builder set.
Thanks to checking out my blog! Tune back in tomorrow for more…. more cards not more green!
Today’s card for day three of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge was made using all MFT products. I have had these alphabet dies for months and this is the first time I have used then…won’t be the last! I love the effect – a little dimension with just the right amount of punch!
Yep, this is another ‘missing you’ cards for my son. Poor kid is going to be sick of them!
The adorable frogs are colored with Spectrum Noir markers. This is my favorite green combo – DG 1 – 4. Love the hint of lime! (Sounds like a tortilla chip commercial! )
Actually, it’s day two but I am running a bit late! Yesterday started off Kathy Racoosin’s Coloring Challenge! I happened to miss it due to it also being the last day of school and hubby being off work! But here I am in day two ready to go!
I have been absent from my blog for quite a while but figure with the new coloring challege starting it’s a good day to start back! Here is a little review of some of my work from the last several months.
This card was made using stamps and dies from My Favorite Things. They have long been one of my favorite companies and I am so looking forward to their new release this week. I see a hefty purchase in my future!
This is another card using My Favorite Things and was actually featured in their Instagram account! Woohoo…I was excited about that one!
My son is in Basic Training with the Air Force right now so I have heavily been into making ‘Miss You’ cards. He can’t get any yet, but as soon as he can, I have a ton to send. This card was made using Mama Elephant! There was a good bit of masking with this card but it was fun! Love these little bunnies!
I have a renewed love for Hero Arts the last several months! Their card kits have been amazing! This is one made with the kit from a few months ago. I have another kit just waiting to be dug into! Perhaps today is THE day!
Of course, the dog had to have a ‘Miss You’ card for my son, too! This little cutie is from Penny Black! We have a brindle Great Dane. I colored this little pup to look like her.
And one more…
This was THE most fun card to make! I love making my own scene backgrounds! Stamp is from My Favorite Things and was also featured on their Instagram account!
I’ll be back later with a new card for day two of Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
I just uploaded a new video!
