Birthday Cards!!!

…I need them! I have two children that life across the country and three teenagers still at home. I find I make a lot of ‘miss you’ and encouragement cards and not a lot of birthday cards. And when the time rolls around then when the time rolls around that I need a birthday card, I scramble to make one!!!

Here is one card I am adding to my soon-to-be growing stack of birthday cards!!

This precious image is from Mama Elephant and colored him using copic markers. I used the E30 series to color the hamster and the R20 series for the balloons. I then fussy cut him out!

I wanted this to be a more masculine card so I inked a light blue piece of cardstock with Chipper Sapphire Distress Ink. I used a sun ray stencil from My Favorite Things to create the rays. The clouds are cut using a die also from MFT.

I added the white, embossed sentiment, from Simon Says Stamp to finish up my card!

I trimmed down the blue inked card panel and added it to a white card base.

Now I am ready for the next time a birthday comes along!!!

More from the Kit…

I am just in love with the March Simon Says Stamp card kit! Those little bunnies are so so cute and so much fun!!

For this card I first created the tag using a tag die from Gina K Designs from the pattern paper in the kit. ( beautiful papers in this kit!!!) I die cut the circle and then colored the grass with copic markers using a flicking motion! This is my go to technique of choice lately!

I lightly colored the bunnies using the W series of copic grays. I wanted them to stay as white as possible!

I used Distress ink in Shaded Lilac for the sky. I then repeated this coloring process to the card base. I added the tag and the circle to the card base, added the sentiment which was also in the kit, added a little tags topper and button and, of course the little Pom Poms to my bunnies tails.

I then added a simple baker’s tribe bow and my card was done!!

I feel a few more cards will be coming to my blog using this kit! Stay tuned!!!

Last Week in review!!!

Happy Monday!! We all made it through daylight savings time!!! Barely!!! Almost late to work this morning!!!

I thought I would post a few of the cards I shared this week on Instagram!

Simon Says Stamp Card Kit

This card was so much fun and so relaxing to create! I just stamped the adorable bunny images randomly, filler in the bigger spaces with the heats and flowers and then colored!! The sentiment is white embossed on black card stock! Super easy card and I love the impact all those bunnies!!!

Simon Says Stamp Clover Wreath Stencil

I just fell in love with this stencil!!! Had to have it!!!

For this card, I first inked up the cardstock with Rustic Wilderness Distress ink to add a little more depth. Then I covered the stencil with Nuvo Glacier Paste in gold!! Once the paste dried, I trimmed down the panel and mounted it on a a card base of the same color. The sentiment is also from SSS. I added a few gold gears sequins and it was done!!

Avery Elle Stamps and MFT pattern paper

For this card I started by die cutting a frame and then using two shades of copic markers ‘flicked’ in the grass. I colored the bunnies and then layered the frame with pattern paper and cardstock. I stamped the sentiments with Distress Oxide inks because this color seemed to match perfectly!

Hope the upcoming week is good to you!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Just a share!!

Just wanted to post this sweet card I made!! I use to never use purple. I love the color but it wasn’t for me…

Stamps from Avery Elle

… but, as you can see, it was perfect for this card! I think it gives an nice, spring-ish feel to this card! It worked perfectly, in my opinion!!

St Patrick’s Day!!!!

How adorable is this shamrock wreath!! This card was so much fun me! I am a sucker for all wreaths and I love four-leaf clovers! I remember when I was young sitting in front of my childhood home and sifting through the cool summer grass for hours looking for one.

I made this card using Simon Says Stamp’s Clover Wreath stencil!

I first taped the stencil to a piece of darker green cardstock and spread gold Glacier Paste from Nuevo over the top.

After the paste dried, I trimmed down my panel with a die slightly smaller then My 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 green base and blended on some Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink to help make the paste pop even more! I also outlined each clover with a dark green Copic marker.

I die cut the heart and inked it too and then added my sentiment which is also from Simon Says Stamp! I added a few gold heart embellishments and then I added a few white dots with Novo Crystal Dots, added it to my card base and that was it!!!

I fun card to make and I think it really makes an impression!!

Making up for lost time!!!

I have been MIA for about a year from social media. I wanted to take some time to just enjoy the process and not worry about posting. I kept crafting. Made a good amount of cards and even a few small projects for our home. You know, casually craft pressure free. Craft just for me…. All sounded good in theory.

Created with stamps and dies from My Favorite Things

Turns out I MISSED it!!!! I missed how I challenged myself to create something unique to share and maybe inspire. I missed challenging myself to use different products and to work outside my comfort zone. I missed looking at all the beautiful projects on Instagram and I missed sharing! I love the conversations and relationships sharing projects brings!

So, I am picking up from where I left off!!!

The Cat’s Pajamas newest!

Oh my! Talk about love at first sight…. That was exactly how I felt about the Hugs Needed stamp set.

Aside from the fact that all of the images are super cute, this set felt personal. My daughter is a freshman in college 15+ hours away. The entire family miss her like crazy. Especially, out little Scottish Terrier, Tavi. Tavi looks just like this little pup! Hugs are missed…and seriously needed!

This is my daughter and her pup-

And here is the card I made –

I wanted to keep this card super simple and stamped the image with copic safe ink and colored it with copic markers. I drew right over the tree with a brown marker at add a little color- looks like its shaded!

I used the hearts in the I’m Not Fat stamp set and the dotted swirl stamp to help convey the message that we are sending love! I used a cloud stencil and added Distress ink to create the clouds in the background.

I stamped the sentiment with red ink which helps create a visual triangle of red between it, the hearts and the collar on the dog.

I trimmed the paper down and matted it on pattern paper and added it to a cardstock base.

New from The Cat’s Pajamas !

It may be edging on Thanksgiving and we have been crafting for Christmas for a while now. It is NOT to early to be thinking of Valentine’s Day…and truly. This adorable stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas can be used any time of year!

This is the Hello Darlin’ stamp set and it is just so fun! Here is the card I made using it. I can not think of a more appropriate image for google eyes!!

For this card I stamped and then colored these little flocked friends with copic markers. I then cut it out using a circle die.

I cut a sheet of pattern paper down to 4 x 5 1/2 and cut a circle closet to the top with the same circle die. I added a scalloped circle die to help frame this image and placed my image inside circle on the pattern paper. I adhered this to a cardstock base.

I then stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it in white.

I added the google eyes right over the stamped eyes…I think it is such a fun touch to these already fun birdies!
