Gerda Steiner FROGS!!!!

Hi there! Its Rebekah with you today bring you a super cute and easy scene card using the Frogs Stamp Set from Gerda Steiner! I love making scene card and these little frogs just lend themselves to this type of card design.

For this card, I started by stamping the frog and the sentiment with Copic safe ink onto Xpress-It Blending Card – its my favorite for Copic coloring! I brushed on several shades of Distress inks to give me a good start to my Copic coloring. I also used a cloud stencil and Distress Ink to create the sky. I was sure to avoid the frog when creating the sky.

I colored the adorable frog with Copic markers and was sure to add a lot of contrast.

I then worked on the grass. I started with a light green – G21. I held the marker slightly on its side and ‘flicked- up’ with the marker. This flicking motion is perfect for making grass. I then did the same thing with G43, YG64, G94 and G99. I made the flicking motion shorter and shorter with each marker. Remember when creating scenes – darker is CLOSER, lighter is FARTHER AWAY.

I added a few dots to add more texture to the grass and a bit more dimension. I outlined the frog with B00 and B0000 to make him pop a little more. I also added a few motion lines to make it look like he is in mid-hop!

This set is so adorable and FUN! Did you know it also comes in an English AND German version! Be sure to check it out and tag Gerda Steiner when you share your creations! We all love to see what you make!

Just a reminder…

Interactive cards and me are NOT a match made in heaven! Anything with involving moving pieces including the paper towel dispenser at work, gives me a hard time! But this card is moving pieces made easy!

Everything I use for this card is from The Cat’s Pajamas. I started with the Basic Pop-Ups die to create this landscape. I added the Hill and Dale Dies, the Cloud Border Cut-ups Die and the Bunnies in Flight Stamp Set.

The Basic Pop Up dies really does alllll the work fo you. All I did was color and fussy cut the bunny, adhered the hill and cloud dies and that’s it!

When the recipient opens this card they get an extra surprise of a 3D scene! To really make the inside more of a suprise, I kept the outside SUPER simple!

This post also serves as a reminder for your chance to win!!! Its Move It May of The Cat’s Pajamas blog and you could win a voucher for $50! Check out the blog for all the details!! Click HERE!

Perhaps my favorite…EVER!

Have you seen this stamp set??

This is Chicken Scratch from Gerda Steiner Designs and I LOVE it! I would dare say it’s one of my most favorite sets to date! The images are hysterical and so are the sentiments! Check out the one on the bottom of the above image…. ‘this card was made from scratch’! Haha! Totally my sense of humor!

This is a card I whipped up using the Chicken Scratch set.

This card is obviously a clean and simple design which really keeps these adorable chickens the stars of the card.

To make this I started by stamping the three darker chickens first, being sure to leave space for the other two chickens. I made maskes for the three dark chickens, and then stamped the remaining images.

I then colored each of the chickens using Copic markers and added white spots to the darker chickens with a Uni- ball Signo white gel pen.

I gave them shadows with my neutral gray Copics and stamped the sentiment with Versa Fine black ink.

I think it turned out pretty cute! Now…..who should I send this too?? Thank goodness my friends and family would totally get the humor!

Easy scene building with Gerda Steiner’s Hoppiness!

I love creating a scene! Sometimes they can get quite complicated and then there are some which are super easy! I am going to share a simple scene card with you today using the stamp set Hoppiness Stamp Set from Gerda Steiner!

This scene came to gather so quickly! First, I stamped the little bunny and butterfly. I also made masks for them and placed the masks over the images.

I then stamped the fence. The fence stamp, itself will not go all the way along the card front. I stamped the fence in the middle of the card once and then, looking through the acrylic block which the stamp was on, I could see how to like up the next row of fencing! I continued this until it was across the card!

I used a cloud stencil to color a few puffy clouds with Distress inks and then took the masks off the bunny and butterfly. I the clored in my images with Copic markers!

I drew in a few tufts of grass along the bottom.of the fence which added a little more color to the card and also disguised that face that I did not stamp perfectly straight!

Easy scene and so much fun!

Thanks for visiting the blog today! Be sure to share with us what you are working on this weekend!

Hey! Its Tuesday!

Here is a card I made using the Family Forever Stamp set! How adorable is this little bear!? There are also bunnies and little ducks in this set! Just too cute!

I colored this springtime scene using Copic markers. Super fin and easy!

The finished card measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and I love the square shape. It’s just a little unexpected!

April Fools Day!! A joke and a pun!

Happy April 1st!! Also known as April fools day!! This is a big day at our house. Jokes and gags are planned for months in advance. And everyone know they will fall victim to at least one joke before the end of the day. Waiting to see who will get you and when, is the most funny part of the day.

We also tell all kinds of jokes. Like this one made using the newest stamp set coming SOON to the Gerda Steiner shop called Chicken Scratch!

I drew in the karate uniform and wrote the sentiment with a simple black Copic Milti-liner.

Are you ready for the punch line???

The set itself is funny! Look at the expression on the chickens! They crack me up and are eggsta ADORABLE! Ha! Ha!

The chickens seem to be completely annoyed at this pun and I think it is just too cute!

So funny!

I love a good pun and this set has a great one with a lot of potential for you to create your own. Check for it very soo in the shop! This is one you dont was to pass up!
